Meet Captain Jay Bruce

Captain Jay Bruce is a US Coast Guard licensed fishing guide

Captain Jay is a lifelong outdoorsman with over 21 years of guiding experience and 13 years as a professional fisherman. While he enjoys fishing for many species, his primary focus is on Striper and Crappie, a field he dominated during his professional career.

Jay runs a faith- and family-based guide service with the primary goal of inspiring the younger generation to develop a lifelong love for fishing. He teaches all aspects of the experience, including catching fish, graph use, and bait and tackle tips. His ultimate objectives are to "take a kid fishing"‍ ‍to build a new generation of adults with a love to fish. He works hard to ensure every client has the best experience possible.

Fun-Fueled Fishing Services

Jay Bruce offers three types of guiding trips throughout the year!

  • Striper fishing, available April to November on Lake Hartwell

  • Crappie fishing which is November to April on Lake Hartwell

  • Catfishing on lake Monticello

Both types of fishing trips are 4-6 hours long and are available 7 days a week! Morning and evening fishing is available. Jay is here to give you a fishing trip you will remember.

  1. Morning fishing - Starts at 6 am

  2. Evening fishing - Starts at 3pm

Each fishing trip does require a $100 deposit at time of booking.

  • Striper are in season from April to November and can be fished for morning or evenings. These trips are on Lake Hartwell in SC

    The cost for our Striper fishing trips is as follows:

    • 1-4 people is $500.00

    • Each additional person is $100.00

    These trips are 6 guest max.

  • Crappie are in season from November to April and can be fished for morning or evening. These trips are at Lake Hartwell in SC.

    The cost for our Crappie fishing trips is as follows:

    • 1-3 guest is $400.00

    • 4 guest is $500.00

    These trips are 4 guest max.

  • Our catfishing trips are on the beautiful Lake Monticello. These trips start at daylight and last 6—8 hours.

    The cost for our catfishing trips is as follows:

    • the first 4 guest is $500.00

    • each additional guest is $100.00 each.

    Catfishing trips are 6 guest max.

From guided trips to boat rides on the water, we’ve got your back—and your boat!

We can meet and launch from boat landing OR if you have a dock on the lake we can pick you up from your dock!

All equipment including rods, reels and bait is included.

All you will need is a current annual SC fishing license for all guest 16 years or older and you provide any snacks or drinks of your choice along with your sunscreen (NO spray sunscreen please).
